ABHISHEK CHHIBBAR
Abhishek is a merit student of Gurukul Kangri University, Hardwar, from where he did his M.Sc Microbiology. He has worked on projects like sewage treatment (PCRI), petroleum exploration (ONGC), tissue culture (FRI), analysis of pharmaceutical products (Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd.) and continued working as a microbiologist at Akums. He is interested in drug design research, clinical trials, structural biology and software designing and would like to serve as an interface between wet lab and computer application.
ANURAG KHANDURI
Anurag completed his B.E in Biochemical Engineering from Kumaon Engineering College, Almora. He underwent summer training in Mohan Meakins and Homeopathetic Pharmacopiea Laboratory and also worked on a minor project “Plasmid DNA Vaccine” and major project on biofuel. His topics of interest are biochemistry, protein structure, enzyme engineering and bioprocessing engineering. He would like to apply his knowledge in the field of drug designing.
APARNA RADHAKRISHNAN
Aparna completed her B. Sc. Microbiology from Mitibhai College, Mumbai M.Sc. Biotechnology from Dayanada Sagar College of Biological Sciences, Bangalore. She joined IBAB to coalesce her biological knowledge and passion of computers.

ASHISH KUMAR AGRAWAL
Ashish completed his graduation in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry from College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. His keen interest in computer programming and  clinical aspects of biology brought him to IBAB. He would like a future in the field of clinical trials.

AVIK MANDAL
Avik is a graduate in bio-medical engineering from Samrat Ashok Technical Institute, Vidisha, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal. He is interested in doing research in the field of Bio Molecular Nanotechnology and feels that the knowledge IBAB imparts in the field of molecular biology and computational biology will help him achieve this.

BIKASH CH PUROHIT
Bikash is a post-graduate in LifeSciences (BioChemistry) from Sambalpur University, Orissa. He worked as a research fellow in the BioChemistry Department, Central University Hyderabad for one year. He is interested  in working  on protein folding, protein-protein interactions and their interactions with other biomolecule. He would like to apply computational skills in these areas and try to solve complex issues.

DEEPTI SHARMA
Deepti did her post graduation in Botany from Banaras Hindu University. Her M.Sc. project was in genetical tools in cyanobacteria. During her studies she developed a keen interest in computational biology , drug designing & drug delivery, proteomics ,sequence analysis and hopes the skills acquired at IBAB will help in her future endeavours.

GAURAV THAREJA
Gaurav is a biomedical engineer from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. He has successfully completed a 4-month project in image registration and fusion at the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi. He would like to use his instrumentation and computational skills to solve biological problems. His interests include machine learning, sequence analysis, drug designing and computer modeling. He joined IBAB in order to gain a thorough knowledge of biology and also to hone his computer and mathematical skills.

JAYATEERTH N RAICHUR
Dr. Jayateerth is an MBBS from Karnataka Institute Of Medical Sciences, Hubli, Karnataka. He has worked in private hospitals in Karnataka and Kerala as a Medical Officer in Departments of 'Emergency & Trauma 'and 'Nephrology'. During his tenure as a Medical Officer, he realized that current medical practice does not provide a permanent cure for many diseases. He joined the bioinformatics course at IBAB with the hope that it will enable him to work with a team involved in finding solutions to biological problems. His special areas of interest include drug designing and clinical informatics.

KANCHAN ACHYUT PAI
Kanchan completed B.E. in Biotechnology at K.I.T. College of Engineering , Shivaji University, Kolhapur. She did a one year B.E. Project on “ Synergistic Effect of Pterocarpus marsupium Robx. and Trigonella foenum graceum Linn on ß-Cell regeneration”. She presented papers and a poster at two international conferences and won 1st prize in the National Level Paper Presentation conducted by UICT Mumbai in 2006. She has keen interest in animal tissue engineering and nanotechnology and would like to apply the knowledge of bioinformatics in these areas. Kanchan is a avid badminton player and has represented her school and college in tournaments and won several prizes.

KARTIK RAJAN
Kartik is a graduate in biotechnology from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune. His interests lie in population and evolutionary genetics and ideally, he would like to pursue research in the field of genetic diversity of the Indian population with an aim to use this information in optimizing drug design and delivery.

Kishlay  is a botany honours graduate from IGNOU. He has a keen interest in exploiting the biomolecules found in plants .He believes that the technical skills acquired at IBAB will help him in achieving this goal.

LOGESH RAJA MANI
Logesh received his post graduation degree in biochemistry from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. For two years he worked as a biochemist in the areas of RIA and ELISA in at an immuno diagnostic laboratory. He hopes the bioinformatics course at IBAB will help him explore his interest in genomics, proteomics, molecular modeling and drug design. He would like to utilize his knowledge in the area of life science research.

MADHUSUDHAN SANJEEV KUMAR M
Madhusudhan holds a M.Sc Biotechnology degree from St. Joseph's College, Trichy and a B.Sc from Loyola College, Chennai. He has successfully completed two 6-month research projects in HIV molecular biology at the National Centre for Cell Science, Pune. His interests include molecular biology, psychology and management. He believes that the diverse academic and professional experience to be gained at IBAB will help him achive his goal of becoming an entrepreneur

 

MAITHILEE SINGH

Maithilee is a M.Sc Botany from University of Delhi. While working on two projects :'Phylogenetic analysis of Plant Cytoplasmic Small Heat Shock Proteins using Bioinformatics tools' and another for 'Knox gene family'. she developed an interest in bioinformatics. She also did a summer internship under Dr. Ruplal, Dept. of Zoology, University of Delhi. She published an article 'Recent studies in insecticide resistant Bt genes' in the Indian Journal for Multidisciplinary Research published from the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research and Action (CMRA), Kerala.

MALATHY HEPZIBAH V
Malathy is a B.Tech graduate in Industrial Biotechnology, from GCT Coimbatore, Anna University. Her dissertation was on “Genetic diversity analysis of varieties of Musa species using AFLP and RAPD”. The basics of bioinformatics which she learnt induced a curiosity in this field and hence she decided to join IBAB. Her interests include genetic engineering, immunology and psychology. She hopes to apply bioinformatics tools for research in the area of neuroscience.

MEGHA RANI SONI
Megha is a post graduate in biotechnology from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. As a part of the programe she did summer training at C.D.R.I. Lucknow in Molecular and Structural Biology Department, on purification and biophysical studies of enzyme SHMT isolated from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. She also worked on the project 'Cloning of MAPK genes from Oryza sativa’ at N.C.P.G.R. New Delhi.

NANDA PANDEY
Nanda is a postgraduate in microbiology from Avadh University, Faizabad. As part of her masters degree she did a project entitled “Expression and purification of anthrax toxin component from Bacillus anthracis” from Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), Delhi. She also cleared GATE in 2003. She has a keen interest in the areas of molecular biology, computational biology and pharmacogenomics and wishes to work in the R&D sector preferably in the field of bioinformatics.
NEHA SRIVASTAVA
Neha has done her B.Tech. Biotechnology (Biochemical Technology) from Allahabad Agricultural Institute Deemed University, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. She trained in lab techniques at the Biotechnology Department of Allahabad University, did a project on Azotobacter from IIFCO, Allahabad and an internship at Natural Remedies Private Limited, Bangalore.

NIRUPAMA BISWAL
Nirupama is post graduate in biotechnology from Ravenshaw College, Utkal University. She has done a 3-months project on the detection of E.coli by biochemical and molecular methods at Regional Medical Research Centre under Indian Council Medical Research. Her inquisitiveness and curiosity to understand life made her take up the bioinformatics course at IBAB so that she can act as an interface between man and machine. She is interested in stem cell therapy,drug designing and molecular biology.

POORNIMA HELENE RAVl
Poornima completed her B.Tech in Biotechnology from Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, Kerala and her final year project entitled "Reduction of chromium content in tannery effluent." Her fields of interest include computational biology, enzyme technology and drug discovery.

Praveen is a post graduate in the field of biotechnology, from Bangalore University. As a part of the curriculum, he a did project at Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College, Kolenchery, Kerala His field of interests are protein modeling, drug designing and sequence analysis. He hope to work on the computational aspects of biology and this is what brought him to IBAB

PRIYANKA A M MIRANDA 
Priyanka holds B.E in Biotechnology from Visweswariah Technological University, Belgaum. Her project was “Study of 'Fish Protease' from the visceral tissues of Japanese Threadfin Bream, Nemipterus japonicus (Bloch,1792)”. Her interest in medical research and pharmacology led her to take up this course. She believes that the course at IBAB will add a new dimension to her knowledge and help her to interact with people of different backgrounds.

PUPPALA SHAMANTHA
Puppala is a post graduate in Biochemistry from Osmania University. Her interest lies in discovering the secrets hidden in DNA and proteins and the the way the information is controlled in living systems. Bioinformatics at IBAB she feels is an excellent platform for this. She was a summer trainee at ‘National Institute of Nutrition', Hyderabad and also a research assistant at 'Bioworld research technologies' a private institute in Hyderabad.

PURUSHOTTAM SHARMA
Purushottam is a veterinary graduate from the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. He is passionate to learn more about pharmacology, immunology and genetic regulation of predisposing factors of certain diseases. His keen interest in these subjects along with computers brought him to IBAB. He would like a career in areas of drug designing, receptor modeling and immunoinformatics.

Sachin is a graduate in biotechnology from P. O. Nahata College, Bhusawal (North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon). He aspires to do research in biotechnology and hopes the bioinformatics course at IBAB will help him achieve this.

Sailaja completed her master's degree in human genetics from Andhra University. She is interested in molecular modeling and drug designing aspects of bioinformatics and hopes this will enable her to work on designing effective drugs at lower prices.

Sangita is a post graduate in botany, from Utkal University, Orissa. She has also qualified GATE-06 with 90 percentile. She is interested in using the tools & techniques of bioinformatics for research in the area of molecular biology, drugs designing, proteomics & genetic engineering. She is also interested in stem cell research.

SHIRIN ELINA DIAS
Shirin is a B.E Biotechnology graduate from NMAMIT, Nitte. Her project was on “Antibacterial Activity of Memecylon malabaricum”.The two main reasons which brought her to IBAB are her desire to become a biologist with IT skills and the opportunity to study and work with people from different backgrounds. Her area of interest includes generating genomic information to understand various diseases to identify suitable drugs. She would like to do research in this area.

Shobha is a graduate in civil engineering from G Pulla Reddy Engineering College, Kurnool, AP. She is eager to learn different topics such as those offered by IBAB and is keen to work in industry where she can use her computational skills in an efficient and interesting way.

SNEHA SUNEEL SARMUKADAM
Sneha completed her M.Sc in Health Sciences and B.Sc in Botany (Vocational- Biotechnology) from the University of Pune. As a part of the curriculum she did a project in the National AIDS Research Institute, (NARI), Bhosari, Pune entitled “Sub typing of HIV -1 strains recently Circulating in Pune and its Correlation with the CTL Responses”. She hopes to design drugs and vaccines for fighting HIV. Genetics, molecular biology and computational genetics are her areas of interest.

SOUMYABRATAA KUNDU
Soumyabrataa is a B. Tech Biotechnology from West Bengal University of Technology. As a part of the curriculum she had done her summer training on "Bioreactor Designing" at Murhopye Scientific Company, Mysore. In her final year project, she had worked extensively on "The evaluation of the antioxidant properties of Tea extracts on DNA damage and repair". She is interested in the detailed study of the various molecular biology aspects and rDNA technology using computational tools.

Subhamoy holds a M.Sc. in Biochemistry from University of Madras where he developed a passion for DNA, its structure and expression . He would like to work in the field of structural biology and drug designing. He believes that in IBAB his creative skills will be nurtured and will help his career in the field of biological sciences.

SUJITH RAJ KOTHAPETA
Sujithraj did his post graduation in organic chemistry from Kakatiya University, A.P. His interest in computational chemistry and drug designing discovery brought him to IBAB. As he comes from a non-biological background he hopes this course will give him the required skill sets.

Suman completed his B. Sc in Biotechnology from Bangalore University. He has done short term training projects in gene cloning techniques and medical microbial techniques. His keen interest in sequence analysis, molecular modeling, proteomics and biostatistics brought him to IBAB.

SUNITHA YADAV
Sunitha completed her bachelors in biotechnology from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, Bangalore and concurrently obtained a diploma in plant tissue culture and another one in genetic engineering. She did two summer internships in immunology and industrial microbial technology and another in enzyme assays at Biocon. She has a keen interest in the field of female reproductive biology and drug designing and would like to do research in this field.

Viswanaga did his B Tech Biotechnology from Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai. His project was on human genetic diversity, using blood samples of different tribes at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad. His interests lie in the fields of DNA sequencing, drug designing and computational biology. IBAB he feels, will give him insight into molecular modeling.
