How To Apply & Program FEES
Admission procedure
1. Application
processing fees (non-refundable):
A DD for the above mentioned amount in favour of “Institute
of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology” payable at Bangalore,
should be sent either with the request for application form (by
post/courier) or with the filled in application form (if downloaded).
2. Application
Form: The form can be
The downloaded word document form can
be filled up and sent as an attachment by e-mail and the DD and
the other documents can be sent by post/courier. The form sent
by e-mail will be processed only on receipt of the
DD.
The downloaded pdf document form should
be filled up and sent along with the DD and the necessary documents.

4. Eligibility for
the course
-
A recognised bachelor's or
master's degree in any branch of science or engineering with minimum of
55% marks.
-
Students awaiting their results
can also apply, provided their average percentage of previous
semesters/years is at least 55%.
5. Selection process
-
Objective-type written tests will
be held at six centers.
-
Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi,
Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Short listed candidates will be
called for an interview (at their own expense) at Bangalore.
6. Entrance test
-
The IBAB entrance test is
mandatory for most candidates.
-
Exceptions are:
NET qualified.
A GATE score of 550
and above (80 percentile)
Corporate sponsored.
NRIs/ Foreign students.
The candidates coming under the above mentioned categories must
appear for a personal interview at IBAB.
The test will be of 120 minutes' duration.
There are 100 questions to be answered.

science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)

There are no specific books
recommended for this test. The test is based on the XII Std
(ICSE/CBSE) science syllabus. There is no negative marking.
Fees
For
regular students:
- Rs. 90,000/- (tuition
fees for 3 semesters).
- Rs. 30,000/- (for
library, computer lab, examination fee and health insurance).
- Rs. 30,000/-
(security deposit, refundable only on completion of the course).
The
fees can also be paid in installments:
- Rs. 90,000/- (I
semester fees + library fees etc + security deposit) to be paid at the
time of admission.
- Rs. 60,000/- can be
paid in two installments of Rs. 30,000/- each at the beginning of the
semesters II and III.
For
NRI/ foreign/ corporate sponsored students:
- Rs. 180,000/-
(tuition fees for 3 semesters).
- Rs. 30,000/- (for
library, computer lab, examination fee and health insurance).
- Rs. 30,000/-
(security deposit, refundable only on completion of the course).
The
entire amount has to be paid at the time of admission.
Partial
waiver of fees in case of a few deserving students is feasible.
