INCUBATION

There are various advantages for entrepreneurs to have an institutional base and/or affiliation, and these are provided by IBAB. Dr. N. Jayasuryan, CEO of the start-up company Microtest Innovations Pvt. was the first entrepreneur to be incubated by IBAB. Cellworks Group Inc. has also availed of IBAB's incubation facilities and their website can be viewed here. Simbiosys Biowares and Novozymes R&D were also incubated . The latest companies to be incuated by IBAB are BioCOS Life Sciences, Ixora Biosciences and Shodhaka Life Sciences Pvt Ltd and MIR Life Sciences.

Some IBAB alumni have gone on to become entrepreneurs. Savitha Ananth has started her own company, Genbios, which is being virtually incubated by IBAB. Other alumni also have young companies.
