Position Project Assistant in Bio-IT Centre

Applications are invited for the position of Project Assistant in the Bio-IT Center at IBAB, Bengaluru. The successful candidate will work on next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis projects in the Bio-IT Centre and after sufficient training, will act as a demonstrator in NGS workshops conducted by the centre. Motivated candidates will also be encouraged to conduct research on diverse projects related to genomics, transcriptomics and epigenomics, network analysis, and mathematical modeling. The position is available for an initial period of six months and based on performance, will be extendable for two years.
Essential Requirements:
- Master’s Degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology/Biotechnology/ Life Sciences or related subjects with at least 60% marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
- Prior knowledge and hands-on skills in handling NGS data including DNA-seq, RNAseq and ChIP-seq pipelines, computational tools for data analyses, and programming languages. Preference will be given to languages such as Python, R, etc.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills, including the ability to maintain detailed records.
Remuneration: Remuneration will be commensurate with expertise and experience.
