Eligibility:
Master’s degree (MSc or equivalent) in any Science subject from a reputed institute with at least 55% of marks or 6.00 CGPA. Candidates must have their own fellowship from funding agencies such as CSIR/UGC/DST/DBT/ICMR etc., to apply for these positions.

For positions under category 1, MSc in Life Sciences or a related subject with a minimum of 6-month training in molecular and cell biology techniques is required. Experience in handling malaria parasite-infected human blood in a BSL2 laboratory and/or mosquito rearing will be an added advantage. Successful candidates will be trained in state-of-the-art CRISPR/Cas-based genome editing tools, high throughput sequencing methods and relevant biochemical and cell biology techniques. The candidate will also be trained in NGS data analysis pipelines and related bioinformatics tools.

For positions under category 2 and 3, MSc in Life Sciences with a minimum of six-months working experience in molecular biology/cell biology techniques is required. Successful candidates will get hands-on training in yeast genetics, DNA assembly methods, gene expression analyses and gene editing technologies.

For positions under category 4 and 5, MSc in Physics, Chemistry or Life Sciences with proven experience in computer programming and scripting is highly desirable.

For positions under category 6, MSc in Life Sciences, bioinformatics or biotechnology is required. The candidate should have interest and desire to learn computational and statistical analysis methods required for the work.

For positions under category 7, MSc in any Science subject with interest in genomics, transcriptomics and/or non-quantitative systems biology is desirable. The work may require intensive computational programming or molecular biology experimentation, in addition to extensive data analysis. Required training will be provided. No prior experience is necessary.

For positions under category 8 and 9 M.Sc in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or Bioinformatics is required. Prior experience in molecular cloning, protein expression and/or purification methods is preferred. Knowledge of Linux/Python scripting is a plus point. Strong interest in structural biology and willingness to learn new techniques is essential. Necessary training in biophysical methods of protein characterization and/or structure determination using X-ray crystallography will be provided.

Please note that current positions are available only to candidates having their own fellowships from CSIR/UGC/DST/DBT/ICMR or other funding agencies. Eligible candidates shall apply with their CV along with a cover letter indicating their choice of research scheme and fellowship details by e-mail to phd-admit@ibab.ac.in on or before 22nd March, 2021.

Those who have sent their applications recently or for the previous admission notice, need not apply again. Short listed candidates will have an online interview and a written test. Selected candidates will have a second round of interview in-person or online. Passing the test and interview does not guarantee admission to IBAB. The decision of the interview committee will be final. On-campus hostel facility will be provided to successful candidates.
