Applications are invited from motivated candidates with reliable programming skills for the Project Associate positions in the DBT funded Centre for Disease Genomics, Bioinformatics and Big Data Analysis in Biology and Healthcare- BIC at IBAB, Bangalore. The successful candidate will be engaged in research projects in the area of computational biology and development of multiple computational resources (databases and software) for global biological/bioinformatic research.
The position will be offered initially for 6 months and based on performance and satisfactory progress, it can be extended until project funding is available (currently 5 years). Meritorious and enthusiastic candidates may be considered for the IBAB-PhD program based on their willingness, suitability, and eligibility. Selected candidates may also avail on campus hostel accommodation.
Eligbility:
M.Sc./M.Tech./M.E. in Computational Biology/ Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Life Sciences
Preferences:
- 1-2 years of experience in academia or industry in relevant areas
- Good skills in computer programming and bioinformatics
- Good communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills, including the ability to maintain detailed records.
- Students qualified the NET/ GATE or equivalent would be preferred.
Remuneration:
As per DBT guidelines.
