Dr. Amanjot Singh

IBAB Faculty Fellow
Joined IBAB in 2023.

Dr. Amanjot Singh completed his doctoral studies at the University of Delhi South Campus where he studied the heat shock response in plants. For his post-doctoral research, he joined The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla where he worked to understand the mechanisms of translation re-initiation in cellular mRNAs. He moved to the University of California San Diego, USA, to work on how chaperones and the ubiquitin-proteasome system work hand-in-hand to degrade misfolded proteins. Subsequently, he joined National Centre for Biological Sciences, India where his research involved understanding how protein quality control is affected during stress and neurodegeneration. His research focuses on understanding how stress granules and pathological protein aggregates affect cellular homeostasis and what are the underlying molecular mechanisms?
