“Single Cell RNA sequencing and Basics of Analysis”

The Bio-IT Centre at IBAB is organizing a three-days Hands-on Workshop on “Single Cell RNA sequencing and Basics of Analysis” from Januray 23-25, 2023. This workshop will train candidates in the following;
- Single cell RNA-seq: Principles and Methods
- Sample Preparation and Validation for Single Cell Sequencing
- Drop-seq, High Throughput Single Cell RNA-seq
- 10x Genomics: Chromium Controller Single Cell 3 Work Flow
- Pre-requisites for Single Cell RNA-seq Analysis: Linux command-line & R
- Sample Preparation and Validation for Single Cell Sequencing: Dead Cell and Contaminants Removal, Pre-enrichment Prior to Single-cell Sequencing etc
Target Audience:
A lecture and hands-on laboratory workshop is ideal for researchers and bench scientists interested in a comprehensive introduction to single-cell RNA-Seq. The core of this workshop highlights key aspects of NGS and RNA-seq methodologies, with an introduction to modern tools to conduct experiments. Emphasis will be on essential aspects such as sample preparation, quality control validation and enrichment, and extensive use of different single cell RNA-Seq data analysis tools (Cell-Ranger, Seurat, Loupe Browser, Pseudo-time Analysis, Clustering Analysis in-depth: t-SNE and Principal Component Analysis).
Only fifteen candidates will be selected for this workshop on a first-come basis.

Registration Procedure:
Interested participants should register for this workshop by filling up this google form. You will be asked to upload your resume, a recent photo, and a write-up (minimum 100 words) on how this workshop will be helpful for your research and career development. Once Twenty-five seats are filled, the registration will be closed. The participants must submit the registration fees before registering themselves. The registration deadline is 18th January 2023.
Selected participants will be notified within a few days after your registration so that you can arrange your travel plans.

Travel and hostel accommodation:
To participate in the workshop, all participants should come to IBAB one day before. A hostel facility will be provided to all participants on a sharing basis at a minimum rate. Participants will take care of their travel; the institute will not provide any financial support.
About Bio-IT Centre:
The Bio-IT Research and Training Centre (Bio-IT Centre) was established at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) in 2010 with support from the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeITY), the Government of India, and the Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka. Bio-IT Centre has a state-of-art sequencing facility with the high-throughput sequencer HiSeq 2500 and several accessory equipments such as a Hi-Scan system for Illumina bead array and microarray-based imaging, Qubit, C-bot, Covaris, Bio-analyzer and Agilent 2200 Tape-station for the processing of DNA and RNA samples, Stratagene Mx 3000 for Real-Time PCR, and 3500 Dx Genetic Analyzer for capillary electrophoresis based sequencing. Bio-IT Centre provides sequencing and analysis services in either collaborative or service mode. The Centre also regularly organizes introductory and advanced bioinformatics and NGS analysis workshops.
