Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position at IBAB

Applications are invited from motivated students for the position of Junior Research Fellow in IBAB-biotech industry collaborative research project. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Sanjay Ghosh in the Synthetic Biology group at IBAB, Bengaluru on a project involving engineering yeast strains for production of biologics. The selected student will be provided accommodation in the IBAB hostel. The project funding is available for 5 years. Suitable candidates will be admitted to IBAB PhD program.

Qualifications, Experiences and Skills:

  1. Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Genetics or related subjects with at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
  2. Experience in yeast genetics, basic molecular biology and cell biology techniques including cloning methods, microscopy and FACS analyses.
  3. Ability to maintain accurate lab records and data analyses, good organisational and problem-solving skills, team player and willingness to learn.
  4. Experience of working in industry.

Remuneration:
As per DST norms. The fellowship will be extended following an annual review of the work and satisfactory progress till project funding is available.
