4-Days Hands-on Workshop on
“Molecular Techniques in Genetic Engineering”

The Synthetic Biology group at IBAB is organizing a 4-day hands-on workshop on “Molecular Techniques in Genetic Engineering” from June 24-27, 2024.
Objective: This intensive workshop will focus on techniques and workflows in DNA, RNA and protein analysis used in genetic engineering. The participants will be provided with extensive hands-on training in experimental methods including isolation of DNA and RNA, RT-PCR, DNA assembly and cloning methods, and analysis of proteins. In addition, specialized lectures and quizzes will be conducted to enhance the conceptual understanding of principles and protocols of different techniques of molecular biology and genetic engineering.
Target Audience: Students studying in class 10-12 with biology as a subject and students pursuing undergraduate courses in Biology/Zoology/Botany/Life Sciences/Biotechnology or any subject of biological sciences are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to students studying in higher educational institutions in Karnataka. A total of 25 participants will be selected for the workshop.
How to apply: Interested participants should register for the workshop by filling up a google form (link mentioned below). Selected students will be contacted for paying the registration fees. Participation will be confirmed only upon receipt of the registration fees.
Registration Fees: For class 10-12 students – INR 4000, For UG students – INR 5000/- (including food and hostel accommodation). Fees paid once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Deadline for registration: 15th June, 2024
Certificate: All participants will receive a certificate from IBAB.
Travel and Accommodation: All participants should come to IBAB on 23rd June, 2024. Hostel facility on a sharing basis will be provided to all participants. Participants must arrange their own travel, IBAB will not provide any financial support.
