Applications are invited for the Project Assistant position(s) in Aging Genomics group at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bengaluru. Ongoing projects in the lab aim to understand amino acid dependent regulation and maintenance of cellular organelles in determining the longevity of an organism. We employ combination of molecular biology, micro biology , microscopic and genomics techniques to understand aging using budding yeast as a model organism. Successful candidates will be trained to perform both wet lab and in dry lab experiments, depending on the need of the project.

Initial offer will be made for 6 months and it can be extended based on the performance. Meritorious and enthusiastic candidates may be considered for the IBAB-Ph.D program.

Eligibility: M.Tech./B.Tech./M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/any branch of Life Sciences. Freshers can also apply.

Preference: Candidates with the prior knowledge in handling microbial cultures and molecular biology techniques will be preferred. Individuals with experience in basic programming Linux/python/ R programming and NGS data analysis are also encouraged to apply.

  • Good organizational and time management skills, including the ability to maintain records.
  • Students with a research fellowship from any central/state government agencies such as CSIR, UGC, DBT or ICMR would be preferred.

Remuneration: Based on the qualification, experience and as per IBAB norms.
