Applications are invited from motivated students for the position of Junior Research Fellow in a DST-SERB funded project in the research group of Dr. Sanjay Ghosh at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bengaluru. The successful candidate will work on CRISPR-based identification and functional analyses of dengue virus host factors in human cells. Suitable candidates will be admitted to IBAB PhD program. The position is available for a period of three years. The selected candidate will be provided accommodation in IBAB hostel.

Qualifications, Experiences and Skills:

  1. Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Genetics or related subjects with at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university. Candidates having own fellowship or qualified any national level examination (GATE/NET/BET/etc.) will be preferred.
  2. Experience in virus-based assays, basic molecular biology techniques including cloning methods, microscopy and FACS analyses.
  3. Experience of working in a cell culture facility, excellent hands-on skills in culturing and maintenance of cell lines, transfection procedures and cell-based assays.
  4. Ability to maintain accurate lab records and data analyses, good organisational and prioritisation skills, team player and willingness to learn.


As per DST norms. The fellowship will be extended following an annual review of the work and satisfactory progress.
