Applications are invited from motivated candidates for the Project Assistant position(s) in the Computational Neurodevelopment Group at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bengaluru. The successful candidate will work in the area of machine learning in computational biology with a focus on genomics and analysis of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data related to neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). The applicant should be inclined to study the genomics of NDDs, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with a strong focus on developing machine/deep learning models for genomic data analysis.

The position will be offered initially for 6 months and based on performance and satisfactory progress, it can be extended until project funding is available. Meritorious and enthusiastic candidates may be considered for the IBAB-PhD program based on their willingness, suitability, and eligibility. Selected candidates may also avail on campus hostel accommodation.

Eligbility:

M.Tech./B.Tech./M.Sc. in Computer Science/Machine Learning /Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/any branch of Life Sciences/Mathematics with good skills in Machine/Deep learning model development, Python & R programming, and analysis of NGS data.

  • Good communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, including the ability to maintain detailed records.
  • Students with a research fellowship from any central/state government agencies such as CSIR, UGC, DBT or ICMR would be preferred.

Remuneration:

Based on the qualification, experience and as per IBAB norms.
