Applications are invited for Project Assistant (PA)/Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Infectious Disease Biology group of Prof. CM Gupta at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bengaluru. The project involves molecular characterization of the role of actin-binding proteins in Leishmania life cycle. The positions will be offered initially for 6 months and extended based on performance and satisfactory progress until project funding is available. Hostel facility within the campus is available.
Essential Qualifications, Experiences and Skills:
Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Genetics or related subjects with at least 65% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
All applicants should have the following essential skills/experiences:
(a) Excellent experimental hands-on skills in basic cell biology, biochemistry and molecular
biology techniques; a minimum of 1 year working experience in a research laboratory or
industry in the relevant area.
(b) Technical experience in handling cell cultures, cloning, protein expression and purification.
(c) Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, motivated and team player.
