Introduction

Computational insights on biology started off with sequences and structures, and evolved in the realms of Network Biology and Multi-Omics. Integrating time-tested and novel algorithms in biological data analysis gave scientists a quantum leap in understanding health and disease. Through this mini-symposium on Informatics and Omics, IBAB brings to light a few contemporary updates in the field of evolutionary biology, drug target identification and drug discovery to be shared by eminent scientists in these fields.

Relevance to IBAB Silver Jubilee Celebrations

IBAB has been pioneering in the domains of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology ever since its inception 25 years before.  The symposium stands as an exhibition of the contribution of IBAB’s former and current faculty members, and their collaborators who have been spearheading the research in the domains of Informatics and Omics. This symposium will highlight the impact of application of popular bioinformatic tools, as well as development of new algorithms and software in making these studies feasible for every biologists!
