Sowmiya Ramesh, an ex-SRF in Prof. Shruthi S. Vembar’s group, presented her work on adapting CRISPR/Cas13 systems to Plasmodium falciparum for transcriptome engineering at the Annual Molecular Parasitology Meeting 2025, Wood’s Hole, MA, USA in online mode, for which she won the Online Poster Award. Sowmiya had also won an award in the previous year for a poster presentation on her CRISPR/Cas13 work at the National Congress in Parasitology 2024 held at IISER Pune.
