As part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations, the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) is delighted to announce IBAB Alumni Day 2025, to be held on 3rd January 2025 in dual (online and offline) mode. The event brings together alumni from IBAB’s diverse academic programs—PGD in Bioinformatics (PGD-B), Laboratory Course in Biotechniques (LCBT), PGD in Big Data in Biology (PGD-BDB), MSc in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, MSc in BDB and PhD programs—along with current students, faculty members, and well-wishers from the broader life sciences community. IBAB Alumni Day is being planned as a platform to reconnect, reflect, and reimagine the evolving roles of bioinformatics, big data biology, and biotechnology in research, industry, and society.

The day-long program would feature interactive alumni panel discussions on emerging technology and research directions, faculty–alumni dialogues on curriculum relevance and industry expectations, and open, student-led conversations on career pathways spanning academia, industry, startups, and interdisciplinary domains. A few other special activities are being planned to give a voice to as many alumni as possible, and mark a step toward sustained alumni engagement beyond the event. Through structured interaction rather than passive talks, the Alumni Day aims to foster meaningful exchange, mentorship, and collaboration, celebrating IBAB’s past while actively shaping its future.
